Gala Sicart Olavide is a Catalan translator, occasional editor, and constant reader.
She previously spent 7 years working at MacLehose Press and subsequently collaborated with Mountain Leopard Press.
Gala has published translations from English to Spanish on Open Democracy and The Conversation. She has been on the panel of experts of New Spanish Books and has translated works for Catalan publishers and artists, including a performative adaptation of Journeys and Flowers for the artists cabosanroque at the Temporada Alta International Festival (with Nick Caistor). Gala also co-curated the program 'Spotlight on Catalan Culture in the UK', organised by the Catalan Institut Ramon Llull.

She is the Spanish translator of Mercè Rodoreda's complete theatre works and has co-translated in English Journeys and Flowers, also by Rodoreda. Her most recent translations into Spanish are Nazlı Koca's La solicitante and Carrera y familia by Nobel Prize winner Claudia Goldin.
Gala is an Associated member of the Sección Autónoma de Traductores de Libros de la Asociación Colegial de Escritores and CEDRO.
